A 100 Word Story (My entry for this week's 100 Word Story Challenge.)
We've been stuck in this so-called tunnel of love since 2110. It's been dead and dark for fifty years now. Except for us. As the last living testament to human hubris, we've been cursed to spend the passing decades in this dank, dim place; our micro-fusion cores burning down far too slowly through the endless twilight.
We don't know where you've gone, why you left, or if you'll return some day. It's just us. The bio-cybernetic miracles of the golden age calling out to you.
We're transmitting live. So if you can hear this, Happy Valentine's Day motherfuckers.
