Video Commentary on "Transworld Syndrome"

Video commentary on posts by Lalo Telling and sororNishi on the "Transworld Syndrome", which is the tendency for those with avatar identities to maintain a consistent form across worlds such as Second Life, OpenSim, Twinity, etc.

Video created using iClone. Botgirl avatar transported from Evolver.

Compelling audio-visual commentary on the manifestations of identity, Bot. The interaction between sound and image in that blank canvas/construct space is really intriguing. "Let's just dance until we disappear." :)

Lalo and soror: Thanks for your posts that inspired the video.

Loire: I had initially played around with a couple of environments for the setting, but ended up with the blank space to add to the surreal nature of the conversation. The first out-of-nowhere cheesy dance section leading up to that long reverse shot was also intended to accentuate the absurd nature of the scenario.

Dale: You picked up the intentional voyeuristic overtones that would have been at home in a peep show setting.

My high-level intent was to layer a few cliche's in hopes of transcending them to some degree. The "so wrong" comment by Majic was amplifying the ickiness in the change of her voice tone. I tried a deep male voice first for the switch instead of the younger sounding voice, but I wanted to create a sense of discomfort in the juxtaposition rather than to totally squelch the erotic-nature of the illusion.
