Usually when we post something to twitter, facebook, or anywhere else, we expect others to at the least refer back to us if they repost the same thing. The act of not doing that appears to be as if one is not getting credit for a post. The truth is that there are so many sources for news and information currently available, that your post might end up being one of many with the same information.
